Odoo 20: Release Date, Global and India Availability, and What's New (2026 Preview)

Odoo only confirms the complete, final feature set at the launch itself, so treat this as an informed preview, not a finished spec.
When does Odoo 20 launch?
Odoo 20 is launched at Odoo Experience 2026, held from 24 to 26 September 2026 at Brussels Expo in Belgium. The launch keynote, delivered by Odoo’s founder, is where the new version is officially unveiled. So the launch date to mark is late September 2026.
When can you actually use it?
This is the important distinction: launch day is not the same as production-ready. The stable, production-ready version usually arrives a few weeks after the conference, with the first solid patch typically landing around October or November 2026. Experienced partners generally recommend upgrading a little after that first stable patch rather than on day one, so the sensible planning window is late 2026 into 2027.
Global and India availability
Odoo releases its new versions globally at the same time. There is no separate, delayed India release: when Odoo 20 is out, it is out for everyone, including Indian businesses, on Odoo Online, Odoo.sh and on-premise. For India specifically, the localization that Indian businesses rely on, GST, e-invoicing, e-way bills, GSTR reporting, TDS and TCS, and Indian payroll with PF, ESI and professional tax, carries forward into Odoo 20 and continues to be maintained and improved.
The headline: from AI helper to AI agent
If Odoo 19 was about more features and polish, Odoo 20’s big theme is intelligence and simplification. The headline is the move toward agentic AI: where earlier versions used AI as a helpful assistant that answered questions and drafted content, Odoo 20 is expected to push toward AI that can carry out tasks on its own inside your workflows. That shift, from an AI that helps you work to an AI that does some of the work, is the story of this release.
What is new, and what is getting upgraded
Beyond AI, the expected new arrivals include a redesigned mobile app, new industry-specific solutions (for example hospitality, construction and more), and technical additions aimed at speed and scale.
